Dutch soccer team departs to Switzerland

The players of our national soccer team arrive at the airport.

During the end of the day at one of my last days at Schiphol Airport the Dutch soccer team leaves to Switzerland for a practice match against Italy. At the moment they were checking in I was working at the basement, doing some baggage handling activities.

One of my colleagues asked me to handle the flight for the soccer team. Just before I loaded the first bag to one of the cars, two guys from the military police came over to check if everything was accurate. Handling the flight took me about thirty minutes, and they stayed there all the time watching me like I’m a criminal. After the cars were driven to the platform the guys from the military police walked away. I’ve never witnessed this kind of situation, but it’ll probably be a standard procedure when famous or important people travel by airplane.

My internship is almost over now, tomorrow will be my last working day at the KLM.
