On the websites of major United States television channels you can watch full episodes of their most popular TV shows and series. If you would like to watch episodes of Heroes, Knight Rider or Ugly Betty, and living outside the US, you’ll get a message that you are not allowed to watch and the video player doesn’t show a thing. When an episode is broadcasted in the US, it takes months before it finally arrives in Europe. If you cannot wait that long, this might be the solution.
Using your IP address, the video player determines in which country you are living. This means we should get an IP address in the US and we can do that using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). When you use a VPN to browse the Internet, the websites you visit (like NBC.com) will see another IP address, so in this case we need an IP address in the US.
It is necessary to use a VPN with a fast connection, as we are going to watch video streams. There a lots of free VPN solutions, but it’s hard to find some with enough speed and a reliable connection. I recommend using Hotspot Shield. It’s easy to install and use and I didn’t have any trouble with playing video streams.
After installing and activating Hotspot Shield, just visit one of the following websites to watch the full episodes:

Too bad Hotspot Shield doesn’t work on 64 bit systems. (Also, the no installation method doesn’t work on ABC)

I finally gave up trying to use hotspot shield – the connections would fluctuate wildly in speed, and would often drop without warning. I’ve since tried several different providers, including overplay.net and strongivpn.com and i’ve found them much better in the long run.
Very rarely, some things are just worth paying for!

On some players (like NBC’s online player) you only need to load the player using HotSpot Shield, then you can disconnect during a commercial and it will continue running off your regular connection. Works very well this way!
