when I first noticed this problem my netbook said that my battery had a 74% charge but the netbook would shut off as soon as I would unplug the power supply. After doing all of the various BIOS “solutions”, my netbook claims that I have 58% battery power but still shuts down as soon as I unplug the power supply.

I’m having the same problem with an acer netbook and I’ve tried the BIOS update to fix the problem numerous times with no luck. I noticed that someone posted that ACER sent them a new battery. Is this a battery problem or a computer problem? Is the battery on some sort of a recall list where you can get a free replacement?

Thank you for this it took a couple of goes, but worked fine in the end. Only real problem was that the computer would not re boot, so had to do a few re starts to get it going.
