Aircraft handling: FMC Rampsnake and GPU training.

Until last week I wasn't allowed to use all the equipment at the KLM because I wasn't trained to use it. Because of this, the trainees always had to be accompanied by more experienced employees. Last week I've had 2 training courses, one for using the FMC Rampsnake, and one for connecting the GPU and placing the wheel chocks.

Take a worldwide journey without leaving your desk.

Searching maps and retrieving driving directions at Google Maps, has been possible for a while now. But after asking some friends and family, it seems that Pictoramio and street view aren't very familiar with most people. It gives the whole Google Maps thing an extra dimension. You are able to travel the world without leaving your desk, with just a computer and a working Internet connection.. and we all have that, don't we?

Those airplanes are big.. really big.

I've been working at the KLM for over a week now, and it's been good. The last couple of days I was linked to more experienced employees, who looked after me while I was working. I could also ask questions to them, because I can't afford to make any mistakes: Safety first. At seven o'clock my working day begins, waiting in the canteen until they declare the names of the next team.

Internship introduction days at the KLM.

Today was the last day of the internship introductions at the KLM, tomorrow I'll start working. Monday and yesterday mainly consisted out of training courses, variating from apron safety to human factors. I also had to make two tests, to make sure I fully understanded the dangers at the airport. Both tests were passed succesfully.
